Established in 1959, the City Palace Museum, Jaipur, is one of the premier palace museums in India. With architecture and collections of national importance, collected and commissioned over the centuries by the Kachhwaha rulers of Amer and Jaipur, the Museum reflects the region’s cultural and traditional roots.

Housed in the City Palace, Jaipur

Built in the mid-18th century, with additions continuing until the mid-20th century, the City Palace comprises of multiple buildings and complexes. It is one of the few royal court complexes of a Hindu ruler from the Mughal era that has survived intact as a single historical site to this day.

Going beyond the residence of a maharaja, The City Palace had served as a site for religious rituals, a place for community entertainment, a centre of political administration, and a source of patronage for over 36 art forms.

City Palace Museum Admission

ADMISSION

The City Palace Museum, Jaipur is open from 9.30 AM to 7.30 PM, seven days a week.

*The Museum is only closed on Dhulandi (the second day of Holi)

GETTING HERE

The City Palace is accessible through two gates:

Gate 1: Near the Jantar Mantar ticket counter

Gate 2: At Jaleb Chowk

*Tickets can be purchased at both gates.
